I can't remember how I was informed or who came out to tell us but what we were told is that a guy in the 12th grade (I was in the 11th at the time) had been hit in the face with a volleyball and it had taken a chunk out of his cheek. He had such bad acne (pimples) that the ball could tear of a piece of his face.
Doubting this story we were shown the bin that the piece of skin had been disposed in. Some one kicked the bin over exposing the bloody tissue with the piece of skin inside, which was the size of a 20c coin (2cm Dia). There was alot more blood on the basketball court than in the tissue and we never saw the guy who got hit (at least I didn't). Bet the janitor had fun cleaning that up.
His acne apparently got alot better, but only on that side. Lastly, I'd glady kick a footy at his face to help if he asked nicely.
