Ze German Homer

Check out this funny Buger King commercial for the Simpsons that featured a German Homer. He kinda sounds like Shaggy from Scooby Doo. I feel like learning another language and trying out for the voice of Homer in some far away country.

Here's the American voice we know and love.

The Reason I like Sepultura and Heavy Metal

It was this music montage at the beginning of Akira and other Manga videos back in the early 90's that had me rocking out. I asked friends at school what the band was "Seputurian?" and it all started from there.

I had to do all my research at HMV as I had no idea what the web was. My only experience with the web in high school was the 5 minutes I used it when at a computer fair.

I had no music taste before this, I didn't listen to the radio and I didn't own any CD's. I just played video games. (Sega Mega Drive if you're wondering)

Seeing this clip made me want to seek out the band and more music like it. And this only happened one other times when I saw the Stinkfist film clip by Tool and Loser by Beck.

I remember peopel saying owe then you'll like Metallica but their songs and sound seemed so old school and weak as did their album covers. I ventured into Pantera, Fear Factory and Machine Head and those kept me bopping as I went through highschool. I still have my very worn Seputura shirt I used to wear everywhere.

My Top Music Artists

If someone asked me what my fav band was I usually just mention what Ive been listening to last. Beck and Tool usaully spring to mind.

Note I have my itunes on random most of the time and the random is pretty shit. It seems to want to create a playlist for me so I end up hearing the same songs all the time.

That said I did overplay the latest Justice album for almost a week. It still rocks.

Last.FM is perfect for showing my music taste is more of a mess than my beard.

Worst Costumes Ever Archive

redridinghood_costume.jpg

Remember when your work makes you do fancy dress for the Xmas party and everyone puts in a lame effort and its just more annoying than fun.

Well take a look at WTFcostumes which has a collection of some of the worst (or best if you want to think about it that way) Halloween costumes Ive ever seen. The one above is particulary tasteless.

10 Year Reunion

My 10 year Merrimac State High school reunion is in November.

I have a feeling there wont be enough people as tracking down people from my high school seems pretty tough. A lot don't seem to online that much ie a handful have myspace and less have a facebook account.

I'm probably one of the easiest to find as my name is all over the interweb where as many of my friends don't really use the web that much.

Im excited about the reunion as not only am I not a dip shit living at home, I actually didn't have many beefs with people at high school. While I wasn't friends with everyone I certainly didn't have many enemies.

Aussie Dollar Kicking ASS

aussiedollar.png

We're almost at 90c USD for the humble Aussie dollar. It's like Amazon is having a 15% off sale just for Australians. Everything is so cheap now especially camera gear and DVD's which you can pick up at discounted prizes now.

Rob reminds me of when he visited the US back in 2001 and our dollar was worth 49c USD. It was half price Australia.

Facebook Friendwheel

friendwheel_ash_facebook_ap.gif

The new API for Facebook allows interesting tools like this Friendwheel app. Here you can see the connections all your friends have with other people. Mine are so disparate its quite funny. Although I'm trying to be a little more selective with my Facebook friends as opposes to my LinkedIn account. Neither I use regularly.

There is a whole Flickr Group (pretty small right now) for showing off your Friendwheel and some people have insane looking Friendwheels. I can't imagine knowing that meany people with the ratio of "knobs to normal people" being so high these days.

The Simpsons Movie Premiere Tickets

The Simpsons Movie Premiere Tickets
The Simpsons Movie Premiere Tickets, View my Flickr stream here.

I've managed to get 6 tickets to the Yellow Carpet screening for The Simpsons Movie on the 23rd of July. Yes I'll be wearing my Nachos Hat, keep an eye out for me.

And you might be wondering why I have six tickets. Well I don't want some big football player in front or behind me to ruin the experience so I've booked out an empty zone around my seat.

If you think this is a waste then you sound like someone who either has only one ticket or no tickets.

Spiderpig!!!!! Spiderpig!!!!! I'm awaiting the Limited Edition Donut Packaging for The Simpsons Movie soundtrack. Now trust me when I say that you will be singing the Spiderpig theme when you leave the cinemas.

The Problem with Blogs

spyshoulder.jpg

One problem with having a blog that your friends and family read (even if occasionally) is you are unable to complain about them. You almost need to start an anonomyous blog just to vent your frustrations and complaints.

Same goes for anything personal. I can hardly blog about a my sex life, fantasies, silly ambitions, bowel problems or anything of a personal nature without both my friends saying "TOO MUCH INFO" or getting in trouble by my girlfriend (hey Ervi).

You end up self censoring yourself and just linking to funny Youtube videos.

I wonder if the more celeb bloggers have their own "secret blog" as you never saw Doogie Howser talking about that wet dream he had or that he cracked a boner at the wrong time as he knew the camera was behind me. Once people know who you are it all becomes this G rated boring world.

This is a PR persons nightmare. After losing out best Film clip to Justice Kayne storms the stage and makes a total ass of himself.

400,000 Videe Views

Over 400,000 people have watch my Lost Fart video. I'm amazed farts are that popular but it's also the rabid Lost fans (of which I am part of) that propelled the video.

While 400,000 seems pretty high, the Dramatic Chipmunk (prairie dog) got that in a few days so in Youtube standards its quite small. If I had of put the video on Metacafe like here I would have made a $2,000 for my time. Ahh hindsight it's cruel.

Lost Fart - Click here for more home videos

My Deadwood cocksucker video got 9,000 views in its first day before HBO made me take it down. My Youtube account could be canceled if I get one more violation of their T&C's because of this.

Which is weird as there are plenty of Deadwood videos on Youtube but mine was singled out.

The next highest videos on my Youtube channel are another fart video this time for Heroes and a video of the Sex Museum in Amsterdam. So all high brow stuff.

Seek the Signs for The Dark is Rising

darkisrising_movie.jpg

We have just launched the first part for the official site of The Dark is Rising movie called Seek the Signs. It's the latest from 20th Century Fox and Walden.

This is the first time I've been able to read a script for a film that hasn't been shot yet. It's great fun. It makes brainstorming ideas for sites a lot easier when you know the movie back to front. Rather than just going off a trailer.

The movie is out October 5 and is based off a famous series of books written in the 1940's.

Also check out the MTV intern promo they are running with So You Want to be a Movie Intern. It's quite interesting and I'm jealous as I'd love to work on the set of a film.

Spiderpig Song

spiderpig.PNG

One song you'll be hearing a lot of in August will be the Spiderpig theme. It's catchy, its easy to remember and when The Simpsons movie is released on July 26th everyone will have heard it.

Here's what you get of Spiderpig from the trailer. Download the MP3 here but there's a full orchestral version coming soon from Fox.

This is a great idea for people who want to take better photos at parties or events. Bouncing the flash of a wall is hard with most digital cameras (i use a napkin but it's never easy). Sow you can just carry around this small wireless flash and make your photos look kick ass.

So visit MrPotatoMash.com or as a friend told me to grab a few extra URL's try starwarspotatoheads.com, custompotatoheads.com, moviepotatoheads.com

I wish now I had of watermarked all my images with the URL but alas there are just many to update. A lesson learnt.

Psyco-Grams from Liquid TV

Liquid TV was the compilation show on MTV that screened here on SBS late at night. While Aeon Flux was the most popular my fav were these Dear Mum postcard clips. Someone has put them all on Youtube for your viewing pleasure. Note: These are not on the Liquid TV DVD which is a shame.

I can't believe this format hasn't been ripped off yet. It's classic and so simple. I love the lazer guided French loves one.

I still remember Dog Boy and The Maxx. and Winter Steele which used to scare me for some reason, I had to change the channel when this was on. I also hated mannequins too when I was young.
