Total Number of Shutter Releases for Camera

I had no idea Nikon kept track of the total number of shutter releases on their cameras. After checking my EXIF data for a photo.

Total Number of Shutter Releases for Camera: 29152

I had in my head I'd taken 50,000 so I was talking myself up.

I guess that's why my shutter on my D70 shat itself. It's going to cost $400 to fix and clean which is 25% of the camera cost. But if I don't get it fixed it might shit itself for good. Also $400 is worth piece of mind and not having to clean the dirt of every photo.

This data is only visible when I use the DXO program to process my photos so it must be deep in the EXIF.
