UFC and PRIDE
I saw an episode of The Ultimate Fighter last week and have since been wanting to see more of UFC. Then I found out about the Japanese version PRIDE and after seeing this video I think the PRIDE stuff looks alot more hardcore.
I didn't see many kicks in any of the UFC stuff. Just moreboxing and then sitting on a guy. This PRIDE stuff looks more like Kick boxing and a little more hardcore.
You can't watch this and not go ouch!
CHeck the rules too. They allow everything except an elbow to the head?! Which is weird as kick boxing allows this.
* PRIDE allows kicking and kneeing the head of a downed opponent who is on his back. This is considered a foul in the Unified Rules, which only allows kicks and knees to the body of a downed opponent.
* PRIDE allows a fighter to stomp a downed opponent. This is considered a foul in the Unified Rules.
* PRIDE allows a fighter to spike an opponent. This is considered a foul in the Unified Rules.
* PRIDE does not allow elbow strikes to the head. The Unified rules allows elbows provided they are not striking directly down with the point of the elbow.
* PRIDE's matches include a ten minute first round, with two minute rest periods. The Unified rules allow rounds no longer than five minutes, with rest periods not exceeding one minute.
* PRIDE's matches are not judged on the ten point must system, rather judges score the whole fight. The Unified rules call for all matches to be judged using the ten point must system.
Stomping = allowed. But elbows are bad?!

Lame Joke of the Week
Why was the Math teacher late for class?
He got on the rhombus!
Boom Tish! Feel free to use this if you are a Math teacher with no sense of humour.
You will need to know what a rhombus is to really enjoy this depth that this joke works on :)

We got a Nintendo Wii over the break (a white one although I'd prefer the black ones) and I've been playing it the last few days. I actually played if for 13 hrs the first day ( i know as it keeps track of your game times)
We've got an error with the system that is comes up and says "System files are corrupt, please consult the manual" but sadly there’s nothing in the manual about this and from a few Google searches we may have to return the system. Which in turn means my 184 top score in bowling will be wiped.
The Wii is lots of fun to play but after fishing, bowling and other fun games I just wanted to shoot the shit out of something in Gears of War.
The more I played the Wii the more I realized can't Microsoft just release a remote type controller with motion sensing abilities? It'd be a lot harder for Nintendo to make the Wii play in HD or play DVD's but easy for Xbox to get a motion sensitive controller?
Also the Red Steel game for Wii is shitastic. I had more fun in the fishing game that playing that.
The Wii must be doing good business as I had to go to 3 stores to complete the set. Myers was the only ones with a Wii box in stock. But no games or controllers. EB games had some games and a plain remote and Game Wizards had the Wii Play bundle set.
No one has any nun chucks left though which is weird as you'd think there would be as many nun chucks as remotes? If not less.
Oh and you really do have to keep a firm grip on te remotes. I've almost tossed the remote a few times by accident.

Monster Pod and other Cmaera Goodies for Xmas
Sadly it looks like this might be too small for a DSLR :(
It's meant to stick to trees as well. Although I can't see any photos to validate this claim. I've ordered one and will try out on Ervi's small digi camera. It will go well with my Bean Bag tripod Ive got.
Those with a DSLR might want to try the Gorilla Pod Doesnt look as cool but still worth checking out.
Here's a site I found that has a list of other wierd and wonderful camera mounts. I personaly like hte style of this chest mounted tripod. Snazzy
And I still havent got around to buying a Lowe Pro 200AW sling bag. These look fantastic. Maybe before I travel again I'll have to invest again.
I raised $335 for the Movember charity which isn't bad but that came from just 10 donations so when I consider how many peopel I know (im not saying im famous but I know more than 10 people who have heaps of disposable imcome) so the $335 is pretty shithouse. But $335 is $335 more than I raised last year

Go Kart Action
Sadly I was the slowest of the guys on the day :( I love Lah's drive off the track. Its the one at about 54 seconds. This was the racing that caused my bruise you saw earlier.

Soap Creative Xmas Parry Super Sumo Action
It's taking a while to edit all the footage we shot but here's a taste. This is when Matt went head over heels for Ross :) See if you can spot my very nerdy laugh at the end. These are the super sumo suits we hired for the party.

Go Kart Bruise: Day 2
This was the result from 50 laps in a high powered Go Kart at 65Km p/h. It looks worse in real life. The photo doesnt do it justice.
