I still love the show and wonder what the magic word was........ Anal probably. Yoda Potato Head: WIPAlmost there. I realise now Yoda has 3 fingers and I need to add the wrinkles on the forehead. Check out the logo for the Golden Drum. An european advertising festival.
It looks just like the Triple J logo. Weird. August 23, 2006: August 23, 2006Clerks 2 and KEVIN SMITH in Conversation
I was lucky to get a free ticket for the Aussie premiere of Clerks 2 at the State Theatre. What was even better was having Kevin Smith do 3 hrs of Q&A after the film with the fans. This was hosted by Popcorn Taxi which put on some great shows. They sell out really fast so I was lucky to get a ticket how I did. Thanks Julian! The film itself was pretty funny and contained a few pretty crude scenes that the fans will get off on. Talk off ass to mouth, a donkey sex scene, debates over Star Wars Vs LOTR and cameos from a few famous faces. The best part for me was hearing Kevin Smith talk and I'm not even a huge fan. The guy knew how to work an audience, which was all ultra geek, fan boys, but he was polite, funny and quick. He also gave really good answers to every question. It was almost like a standup routine with questions form the audience. I’d pay just to here him speak again. I now have to rent the original Clerks as I hardly remember it. I give Clerks 2: 7.5 /10 and recommend anyone who likes a crude comedy to check it out. August 20, 2006: August 20, 2006Marv from Spud City

Mr Potato Head can't resist a bit of the old Ultra violence. August 17, 2006: August 17, 2006New & Improved Mr.P!
I went back and revised my Mr.P. The first one looked nothing like him when I checked reference photos (never do this stuff from memory). I'm pretty happy with this one and now I'll have to buy another Mr.Potatoe head so I can continue with my other mashups. As I don't want to dismantle the little guy. New from Hasbro. It's Mr.P August 13, 2006: August 13, 2006Sexy Bear Dating
Hi, I'm 22, furry and enjoy long hibernations in the winter. I'm looking for that special lady to spend the summers with eating out of dumpsters. Deadwood pancakesThis Deadwood video cracks me up. It's that mix of swearing and edwardian like dialog that gets me. Half the time I have the subtitles on when I watch the show. Xbox 360 gamesThere's 2 games for Xbox 360 which are looking pretty awesome.
Gears of War which looks like Ghost Recon with more firepower. Both look liek great titles and with no revolutionary gameplay but a new twist on classic gaming. August 12, 2006: August 12, 2006August 11, 2006: August 11, 2006Deadwood Cocksuckers 1I love the show so much I've edited out all the words except "cocksuckers" and made a mini episode. ALl video taken form just 3 episodes!! So you can see how much swearing there is in the show. I will have to do another couple of videos to get all the "cocksuckers" done. It's quite fun editing video I just wish Youtibe didn't throw the audio out of sync. August 10, 2006: August 10, 2006Red Zero Launches
After many months of development we (Soap Creative) just launched Red Zero for Pacific Magazines. The initial brief for a "virtual magazine" many mionths ago stipulated they wanted the "page turn: effect. After pushing back on the client I thought we had won this battle. Then as months pass the client kept asking for the page turn effect and we finally relented. Luckily Mike was able to decode the infamous code to allow uis to do all the dynamic stuff we needed for this magazine. And also make sure it played back at a decent speed. Flash 8 saved the day for Mike by allow pages to be cached as bitmaps and reduce load times considerably. it was a huge learning experience for the designers of the magazine. We designed the framework of the magazine but the spreads and everything else was Pac Magazines. We had many meetings with their designers to show them the possibility of the web and that you don’t have to lay everything out on the page. Issue 2 of Red Zero will be a lot tighter I feel as the designers now have a pretty good grasp of what’s possible. I had little to do with this project after the initial functionality spec and think it's turned out pretty good. There's a few spreads in there that look a little rushed but we had little control over this. Hopefully issue 2 will utilise online more by allowing more video, interviews, music streaming and other stuff like that rather than just trying to replicate the feel of a traditional magaizne. August 05, 2006: August 5, 2006August 03, 2006: August 3, 2006Ideal
I've been watching some DVD rips of Ideal, a new sitcome form BBC3 starring comedian Johnny Vegas. It took a little getting used to but the showis quite original and funny. It took me a whole season to realise Ideal means "I deal" drugs. The show is about a small time hash dealer living in a low end suburb. It wont appea to everyone though. I also watched a few episodes of Green Wing a BBC4 production but couldnt get into it. It just felt like it was trying too hard. I can see the appeal but just fell flat for me. August 01, 2006: August 1, 2006Icon Factory Redesign
The guys at The Icon Factory are redesignign their site and have out a very funny holding page while it's under wraps. Very funny. (Can't You) Trip Like I DoHere's my first attempt at a filmed music video. I realise now that you need to shoot about 10 scenes to make a video interetsing as the 2 I shot for this makes for a pretty boring video. It's one of my fav tracks from when I was studying Crastal Method's "Trip Like I Do" from the Spawn Soundtrack. I havent even seen the movie! I'm happy with how it turned out though and once I et a real editing program (IMovie is pretty limited) then I can really start to stretch my directors muscle. I'm going to do a whole series of videos with these toys. |
