I thought as the Dutch love to ride bikes so much you actually straddle the toilet seat like a bike and face the system but I've since been told it's just an olden style toilet which nicely displays your poor for you before you flush it away.

You end up having to flush like 4 times as your turd just sits too close for comfort. Luckily the flush is an on or off rather than a dump the entire system so not much water was wasted.
