Movies for April/May

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
While not the mind blowing experience i was expecting, however it was still an enjoyable experience. Great performances by everyone and the effects were well done too. The idea of someone trying to hide in suppressed memories is classic. Jim Carrey only hams it up once as a little kid.

Movie: 8/10

Treasure Planet
It's Treasure Island in Space! Must have sounded great when they pitched it to Disney, sadly this movie flopped. Rented as part of a 5 DVD pack ($10 for 5 DVD's, you can't pass up a deal like that) this was a lot better than I expected. The animation and 3D effects were top notch. Not to the level of a Pixar Movie but more enjoyable than 80% of the Disney movies out there.

Movie: 7/10
Extras: NP

Tron DVD
The DVD was packed with extras, with the 1.5 hrs "Making of Tron" a standout feature. The movie itself is still fun whist looking very dated. The bike racing and Frisbee sequences still get you excited.

Movie: 6.5/10
Extras: 9/10

2001: A Space Odyssey
A movie that required the FFWD button to get through it. Amazing effects for it's time and it still looks convincing even today. The HAL9000 part was very enjoyable, while the rest of the movie (which is broken up into 4 parts) were boring and drawn out. Some scenes like the phone call home to the daughter were pointless and just inserted to show how cool the future is.

Movie: 5/10
DVD Extras: 0/10
