Client Briefs

Here is a few outlines of the clients briefs you seem to get a fair bit in the web design industry.

1: We want a viral game

2: We want a promotion that's viral and uses SMS

3: We want something creative and cool

4: We want something like that thing you did for this client last year

5: We want something that will win awards

6: We want a website, how much?

Im not bitching as all those requests mean the opportunity to make money and do a good job i just found it funny how ofthen these requests come up. So far we havent created a game like the penguin and yeti game. As that's just pure gold. We did however create Bogan Surf which seems pretty popular around the world. Especially in Sth Korea

paintball

I am going to paintball tomorrow with the biggest group ever. Something like 30 + people. This should make things a lot more fun. As when you go with a small group (<20) you get sectioned off in a small area. But with 30+ you are pretty much guaranteed to be the dominate group and take up the biggest area.

Ahh paintball. If only I had a paint-ball gun to shoot the idiots on the trains with. That would be awesome.

"Hey lady with the fucked up loud ringtone. Bamn Bamn. Splat Splat"

MMM went all columbine there. maybe it wouldn't be a good idea. My Airooka will have to do.

Soap e Cards

We finally launched Ecard Union. We (Soap Creative) started building this back in 2002.

I spent a few months creating the flash engine. The rotate and scale code was a real headache to achieve. Then once 80% of the flash was done I realised we couldn't do the back-end to send and receive the e-cards. Well just under 2 years later we finally had the skills to do this and it's up and running. Thanks heaps Eddie for helping us plug it all together.

We have 4 themes now we another 4 in production from various talented artist's. This is the coolest part. As without different and varied art sets the Ecards would be boring.

Click here to have a test run. And please email me any ecards you create.
http://www.ecardunion.com

We have also decided to change the name and create a new URL for this system. This will be done in the next few weeks. This will better server the artist's and also make it less a Soap Creative thing and more a design community thing. (sounds wanky when i type it)

It just decided to show corrupt images on the screen for no reason, sound is fine the screen just comes up with polygons and flat coloured squares.

Great that this happened on the 4 day weekend we are currently having.

Easter Egg House of Horrors

Today i tried to make my own Easter eggs, and pretty much failed to make anything that resembled an egg. I also remembered that I don't like dark chocolate.

I also found that white chocolate (or maybe the one i bought) didn't set very hard. So my white/dark eggs just flopped when out of the mold.

So now I know why Easter eggs are so expensive as they a really annoying to make. I ended up with a pile of chocolate bits and easter bunny ears, bunny heads etc etc. This will be the last time I try to make Easter eggs but at least I had a go.
