Moving

Once again I have to move. Once again it is due to an owner wanting to move back in. makes buying a place even more appealing. If only I had a solid income :)

The good news is that good old ashfield has hit crital mass with rental apertments and there is a wide selection to choose from. Even better is that if you wait a week the price goes down $15. It's even better when you are the only one looking. I didnt see anyone at the two great places we looked at.

I also found out you can "make and offer" if the ad says $280, you offer $270, and see what happens. Top that with being the only ones to view the apartment and you have yourself and great barganing position. We also had the added bonus of wanting a 12mth lease which kind of sweetens the deal for the owner.

Hardest part is that if you work in your own business you can't really show accurate records of a steady income. But if you can pay the rent than it doesnt matter.

What do dole blugging drug dealers do in this situation?

Washington Snipers

It was a big week for the news with both the Washington Snipers being caught and the Moscow siege taking place. Following the Bali Bombings and thats 2 solid weeks of news about death and destruction.

If anything the rebels in Moscow at least suceeded by highlighting the issue in Chechnya.

Japanime

I saw Cowboy Beebop at the Japanime festival last night and it was great. The cimena crowd had a good vibe. The final ending was a little lame but the rest was highly enjoyable. The animation standard was pretty high and the comedy was just enough. Edo is Japans answer to Olive Oil :)

It along with Spirited Away are the only sold out sessions and you can see why. They are probably the most appealing of the titles. I just wish I had of gotten tickets to Spirited Away :(

If you are in Melbounre I would ord3er tickets now. Brisbane is already sold out. Ouch.

Robot Kid

Kid Robot has the coolest collection of toys i've seen anywhere.

If I had lots of cash I'd buy some. The photos of the figures are great and the site layout is nice and simple. I love these robots

Bombs in Bali

What a shithouse world we live in. It seems no matter where you go you'll get shot or blown up.

Why is this bomb in Bali so much larger than the bombs in Isreal. Is it because the Palestinians don't want to hurt many people or they just want to make a statement. Or they are just bad bomb makers?

The world need s a force restart. Unplug it and start again. We are heading liek all great empires before us, into a great fall. Rome must have seemed pretty shit hot at the time and then suddenly the Dark Ages took over.

Will we have a second dark ages. Only this time radiation will make sure it lasts alot longer.

Here I am worrying if I should get the 4 LOTR DVD pack of the big ass 5 DVD pack, while people starve and people die all over the world.

On a lighter note I walked through the Botanical Gardens in Sydney yesterday and was amazed there is so much nature right next to the CBD. I walked all the way to Harrys Cafe De wheels but ordered a hotdog. next time I'll get a pie.

John Pilger @ MCA

I was able to catch the John Pilger exhibition at the MCA on Saturday.

Not only was it very thought provoking and extremly large but it was free!!!

That may explain the 100+ people checking it out. I have never seen the MCA so packed.

This prooves that Australians love to be stimulated with relevent documentry type content.

I think the commercial channels should take note and pull there finger out when it comes to programing. I read somewhere that they did a survey and found people want more documentries on TV. But the commerical channels put more on and no one watches them. Fuck the "Life a fly" and "The world around us" crap, people (the semi educated public) want to see the stuff Cutting Edge play every Tuesday. They want relevant doco's. They want views that aren't that of an American

The closest thing Australia gets to this on commercial channels is 60 minutes. But this is watered down for the old people who like their info pre chewed.
