April 10, 2002 : 12:17 AMIt's always a confusing timeIt's always a confusing time when it comes to superannuation. I have had numerous jobs and am still in numerous funds. My old McDonalds superannuation is sitting on a petty $34 which i'm hoping to buy a CD with when I retire. My largest amount of super changed hands 4 times in the last 2 years (all from the same employer) and all you seem to get is letters telling you that, not only has your super lost you money (ie -$194 earnings) but you are also being charged for the management of this. I aksed to be put into the highrisk areas yet they stuck me in the most conservative (maybe i could have lost more) Superannuation seems like this magical fund that you will depend on when old. The only people getting real benifit of these funds are the people managing them Posted at April 10, 2002 : 12:17 AM
